Mrs. Leak shared:

The 3rd graders have spent this week reviewing for the state test. They will be taking their first state Math and ELA tests this year. We are working on what the test will look like and how the site works, so that they won't be so nervous and will be better prepared.

In Mrs. Wilcox's junior high art class, students explored a winter cardinal project. Students created a crayon wax-resist painting, learning how wax repels watercolor to produce vibrant effects. As they worked on their cardinal, students practiced shading techniques to show value, understanding how light and dark areas make their artwork look more realistic. They also learned to define the element of art “value” and applied it in their designs. In addition, students experimented with texture, creating details that make their artwork visually interesting and lifelike. This project helped students combine creativity with  foundational art concepts. foundational art concepts.
